Est.1908
A living time capsule on 14th Street
Built in 1908 as a private residence, the Victorian at 1126 14th Street became Modesto's Queen Bean Coffee House in 2005 — and spent the next two decades quietly turning into the city's de-facto living room.
"Everything we do is like a love letter to Modesto."In 2024, local poet Sam Pierstorff and community organizer Ruhi Sheikh took the keys and renamed it the Queen Bean Coffee & Social House. Same staff, same beloved menu — a bigger stage.
The Euphoria
House-baked focaccia, grilled chicken breast, melted swiss, herb-garlic mayo, vine tomatoes, onions & crisp lettuce. Yes — it's as big as it looks.
open

The first cup & the cozy kind of breakfast.
We open at 7:30 — early enough to be a routine, slow enough to be a ritual. Espresso pulled hot, lattes on house-made syrups, and Chef Lorena cooking from the moment the door swings open.
- Lorena's Famous Waffles — strawberries, banana, peanut-buttery maple syrup
- Breakfast Burrito — egg, potato, black beans & Lorena's famous salsa
- The Cucumbin Bagel — a true Humboldt County favorite

The sandwich line that never closes.
From open to close, lunch is on. Six house sandwiches on Genova bread, two salads worth ordering, three sides — and Lorena's pesto exactly where it deserves to go.
- The Tuscano — rosemary-olive-oil turkey, provolone, pepperoncini, ciabatta
- Decadent Chicken Salad — pine nuts, celery, Lorena's pesto
- Queen's BLT — sourdough, bacon, avocado, exactly right
nightly

Then the stage turns on.
When the day shift ends, the house keeps going. Weekly open mics, monthly comedy and poetry slams, live music from jazz to shoegaze, art openings, drag bingo, the QB Run Club — and a room you can rent for whatever you dream up.
